City of Maryland Heights Government – December is Universal Human Rights Month!

0Comments

December is Universal Human Rights Month! Though most aspects of the human rights of the American people are decided at the state and federal level, Maryland Heights tries to do our part to make sure all of our residents feel respected and like their most basic needs are being met.

Human Rights are rights inherent to all humans regardless of race, sex, gender, nationality, ethnicity, language, religion, or any other identity.

The City of Maryland Heights has a Human Rights commission that meets on issues related to equality and discriminatory practices in housing.

If you or someone who know has questions about human rights and what the City can do to promote equity, freedom, and justice, reach out to your local councilperson at marylandheights.com/council or to our City Clerk, Joann Cova, at jcova@marylandheights.com.
