November is National Alzheimer’s Awareness month. Alzheimer’s is a progressive brain disorder, it is NOT a normal part of aging, and more than 6 million Americans are currently living with Alzheimer’s. That is why the Maryland Heights Police Department established, the “Home Safe” program. It is a FREE service that helps us make contact with those who have medical conditions that make effective communication challenging, or who also have a tendency to wander away from home. You can register yourself or a loved one with us. The Home Safe program is a useful tool that provides law enforcement with critical information about the registered loved one so that we can effectively communicate with them when we come in contact with them and get them “Home Safe”.
