University of Missouri-St. Louis head women's soccer coach Stephen Cavallo has announced the coaching staff for the 2025-2026 season.
Cavallo will be joined by three assistant coaches: Gavin Scott, Chris McGill, and Eric Walker. Former UMSL women's soccer player Eylesa Kellam will serve as the program's director of operations.
"I'm incredibly grateful to have such a diverse group of coaches joining our staff," Cavallo stated. "Each coach brings unique experiences and strengths from different areas of the game, which will help elevate the standards and details of our program.
"In building this staff, I leaned on feedback from our current players to ensure we brought in the right people—coaches who are not only passionate about the game, but also outstanding human beings.
"I'm excited to build on the strong foundation of our program alongside this group, and I believe together we can help our program reach new heights."
Gavin Scott is originally from Ayr, Scotland. He comes to UMSL after serving as an assistant coach for Young Harris College's men's team, where he helped lead them to an 11-3-4 record and a Conference Carolinas Southwest Division title. In St. Louis, Scott is also Head of Sport Performance and Boys 9v9 Director at St. Louis Development Academy.
Chris McGill brings more than two decades of coaching experience and holds a USSF "A" License. He most recently worked as Missouri Youth Soccer Association Director of Coaching and Player Development for Missouri.
Eric Walker will serve as goalkeeping coach. A native of St. Louis, Walker played two seasons with St. Louis City 2 before earning his USSF Grassroots license. Last year he coached at St. Louis Lions youth soccer club and provides private lessons for goalkeepers and field players.
Eylesa Kellam graduated from UMSL last year with a Bachelor of Liberal Studies degree and minors in biology and exercise science. She played three seasons with UMSL women's soccer team, making 51 appearances and receiving the Coonrod Scholarship award. This season marks her first as a coach.
