UMSL Tritons announce weekly athletic schedule and recap key early season results

The University of Missouri–St. Louis (UMSL) Tritons athletics program has released its schedule of events for the week of September 8-15, 2025. The lineup includes competitions in golf, soccer, tennis, volleyball, and cross country.

On Monday and Tuesday, the No. 19 ranked women's golf team will compete at the UIndy Invitational in Henryville, Indiana. Women's soccer will host Northwest Missouri State at Don Dallas Field on Wednesday evening while men's soccer travels to Chicago to face Roosevelt.

Friday's activities feature both men's and women's tennis hosting Missouri Baptist at Dwight Davis Tennis Center. Volleyball is scheduled to play against South Dakota School of Mines in Kearney, Nebraska before facing No. 12 Nebraska-Kearney later that day. Men's and women's cross country teams are set to compete at the Larry Young Invitational in Columbia, Missouri.

Saturday continues with volleyball matches against Sioux Falls and Adams State in Kearney. On Sunday, women's soccer will host Drury at Don Dallas Field followed by men's soccer also playing Drury at home.

In recent competition results, the No. 21 ranked men's golf team began their season by winning the Arch Cup with a score of 562 (280-282) at Gateway National Golf Links in Madison, Illinois. Dani Solavera claimed his first collegiate victory with a final score of 136 (70-66), earning him GLVC Men's Golf Player of the Week honors.

The women's soccer team split their opening games—losing to Pittsburg State but defeating Washburn 3-0 thanks to goals from Kennedi Hooks, Gwen Maggard and Taylor Martin; Rylee Griffith recorded a shutout.

Men's soccer started their season with a 1-1 draw against Kentucky Wesleyan last Thursday as Tommy Wortham scored his first collegiate goal assisted by Mario Garcia.

The volleyball squad went 3-1 during the McKendree Invitational last weekend led by Alayna Santel’s average of 3.5 kills per set, Caitlin Bishop’s 12.83 assists per set and Skylar Weaver’s average of 4.92 digs per set.

In cross country action at the UIS Prairie Star Invitational in Springfield, Illinois, Will Kaempfe won the men’s 7K race with a time of 21:45.38 as the Triton men finished fifth overall; Bella Massaro led the women’s team which placed seventh over five kilometers with her time of 21:06.05.

The women’s tennis team opened its fall campaign at SIUE’s Cougar Invite where Aleksandra Lopez won both singles matches; Alexandra Cedeno went one-for-two while Hannah Tse and Morgan Lint claimed victory in doubles on Saturday.
