Tritons women’s golf sits in thirteenth after first round at DBU Classic

The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's golf team, ranked No. 19, is currently in 13th place after the opening round of the DBU Classic at Oakmont Country Club in Corinth, Texas. The team posted a combined score of 301 during Monday's play.

Originally, teams were set to complete 36 holes on Monday. However, thunderstorms in the morning limited play to just 18 holes. The remaining two rounds are now scheduled for Tuesday.

Mayan Covarrubias and Wilma Zanderau led UMSL with rounds of 74 each and are tied for 30th overall. Covarrubias made one birdie while Zanderau recorded two birdies in her round. Hillary Currier finished with a score of 76 and is tied for 47th place. Emmy Wahl shot a 77 and Hope Williams completed the day with a score of 78.

DBU's Madison Ude leads individually after shooting a round of 68, placing her one stroke ahead of Central Missouri's Mia Rallo. Dallas Baptist University (DBU) is at the top of the team standings with a total score of 284.

Tuesday’s competition will begin at 8 a.m.
