The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's golf team is currently in second place after the first day of competition at the Midwest Collegiate, held at Rock Hollow Golf Club in Peru, Indiana. The Tritons posted a combined team score of 585 over two rounds, with individual performances contributing to their position on the leaderboard.
Logan Mayo led UMSL with rounds of 73 and 71, placing him fourth overall with an even-par total of 144. Leo Baudry recorded the team's lowest round of the day with a 68 in his second round, following a 78 earlier, tying him for ninth at 146.
Other notable results for UMSL included Trigg Lindahl and Dani Solavera, both finishing tied for 21st at 149. Lindahl shot rounds of 73 and 74 while Solavera had scores of 71 and 78. Andy Hennen finished with a total score of 155.
UMSL entered a second team into the event, which finished the day with a total score of 607. Benjamin Berger led this group with rounds of 71 and 74 for a combined score of 145, tying him for eighth overall. Campbell Cox shot consecutive rounds of 75 to tie for 28th place.
Atop the individual leaderboard are Tiffin's Mitchell Brassard and Hillsdale's Robert Thompson, each posting scores of 144. Brassard carded rounds of 69 and 71 while Thompson recorded scores of 71 and 69. They hold a three-shot lead over Liam Harvey from Tiffin.
Tiffin leads the team standings after shooting a combined score of 578 (290-288), holding a seven-shot advantage over UMSL going into Tuesday's final round.
