The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's soccer team extended its unbeaten streak to six games after a 1-1 draw against No. 16 Maryville on Sunday afternoon in St. Louis. The Tritons now hold a record of 5-2-2 overall and 4-0-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC), while the Saints are at 6-0-4 overall and 4-0-3 in conference play.

Maryville opened the scoring early, with Allison Estanich finding the net in the third minute after receiving assists from Elsa Nilson-Hurtig and Helene Braren.

The match shifted in the second half when Maryville's Nilson-Hurtig received a second yellow card in the 50th minute, resulting in her ejection and leaving her team with ten players for the remainder of the game.

UMSL equalized in the 63rd minute through Gwen Maggard, who converted a penalty kick for her second goal of the season. "Maggard sent the keeper the wrong way, slotting the ball into the lower right corner for her second goal of the season," according to UMSL Athletics.

Josie Maddox and Maggard each recorded three shots for UMSL, with Maggard placing two on target. Goalkeeper Rylee Griffith made one save during the match.

The Tritons will return home to play McKendree on Friday, October 10 at Don Dallas Field.
