The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's golf team, ranked No. 19 nationally, placed sixth out of 16 teams at the William Beall Fall Classic held at Findlay Country Club in Findlay, Ohio. The Tritons posted a combined score of 930 over three rounds, with daily totals of 312, 314, and 304.
Two UMSL golfers finished among the top ten individuals in the tournament. Wilma Zanderau recorded rounds of 77, 76, and 75 for a total of 228, securing ninth place. Emmy Wahl was close behind with scores of 74, 79, and 76 for a total of 229, tying for tenth place. Mayan Covarrubias tied for thirty-third with a total score of 237 after shooting rounds of 81, 81, and 75.
Hope Williams and Brooke Inchiostro both finished tied for forty-first with totals of 239. Williams shot rounds of 80, 81, and 78 while Inchiostro played as an individual and posted scores of 77, 83, and 79. Hillary Currier rounded out the Tritons' results with a total score of 247.
The individual title was decided by a playoff between Ferris State's Kamryn Shannon and Findlay's Ashleigh Duflo. After both parred the first five holes in the playoff, Shannon secured victory on the sixth hole by making par while Duflo made bogey. Duflo had forced the playoff by birdieing her final two regulation holes; Shannon got up and down from seventy yards on her last hole to save par.
Findlay claimed the team championship with a combined score of 894 across three rounds (298-297-299). Grand Valley State finished second with a score of 908 (302-301-305), followed by UIndy in third at 911 (310-304-297).
The Tritons will return to competition next week at the LeeAnn Noble Memorial hosted at Achasta Golf Club in Dahlonega, Georgia.
