UMSL women’s tennis sweeps Maryville with decisive win

The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's tennis team achieved a 7-0 victory over Maryville on Friday at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center in St. Louis.

UMSL secured the doubles point by winning all three matches. The No. 1 doubles pair, Morgan Lint and Hannah Tse, defeated Isabella Alvarez and Mira Vasileva 6-2. Aleksandra Lopez and Millie Wileman won against Nazil Saka and Elisabetta Ricci with a score of 6-3, while Anna Favaron and Lauren Sweeney beat Grace Brown and Luana Luersen 6-1.

In singles competition, Tse won over Alvarez 6-2, 6-1. Lopez lost her first set to Saka 4-6 but came back to win the next two sets 6-2 and 1-0. Wileman defeated Ricci at No. 3 singles with scores of 6-2, 6-1. Lint was victorious against Luersen, winning both sets 6-3. Favaron secured a three-set win over Brown (6-7, 6-4, 1-0), and Giuliana Cunza received a default win in the final singles match.

The Tritons will finish their fall schedule for the 2025–26 season on Sunday, October 19, when they face Missouri Valley at Dwight Davis Tennis Center at 4 p.m.
