University of Missouri-St. Louis volleyball players Maggie Johnson and Caitlin Bishop have been recognized by the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) and Athletic Solutions for their performances last week. The announcement was made by the conference on Monday.
Maggie Johnson, a sophomore outside hitter from Davenport, Iowa, was named Offensive Player of the Week. She recorded 35 kills over seven sets, averaging five kills per set, and contributed 37 points with a .405 hitting percentage. Johnson also added three blocks during matches against Upper Iowa and Truman State. Her standout performance came against Upper Iowa, where she achieved a career-high 19 kills without any errors and hit .528. This is her first time receiving the Offensive Player of the Week award.
Caitlin Bishop, a senior setter from Lansing, Kansas, earned Setter of the Week honors. She tallied 102 assists across two matches—an average of 14.57 assists per set—along with 18 digs, four service aces, two kills, and two blocks. Her efforts were highlighted in the match against Truman State with 62 assists, 12 digs, and two aces. This marks Bishop’s eighteenth career Setter of the Week award.
The Tritons’ next competition will be at the Midwest Region Crossover in Hammond, Indiana on Friday.
