The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's golf team, ranked 19th nationally, finished the first day of the LeeAnn Noble Memorial tournament tied for ninth place. The event is being held at the Achasta Golf Course in Dahlonega, Georgia, and is hosted by the University of North Georgia.
The Tritons posted a total team score of 589 over two rounds, with scores of 303 in the morning and 286 in the afternoon. Hillary Currier led UMSL with an even par 144 for the day. She shot a 77 in her first round but improved to a 67 in the second round, tying her for 12th place overall. Currier also recorded a hole-in-one on the par-3, 167-yard 11th hole during her second round.
Other contributors included Emmy Wahl, who shot consecutive rounds of 73 for a total of 146 and is tied for 22nd place. Wilma Zanderau completed her day with scores of 77 and 71 for a total of 148. Mayan Covarrubias finished with rounds of 76 and 77 (153), while Hope Williams recorded scores of 85 and 75 (160).
Anderson University's Aly Francis leads all individuals after shooting rounds of 65 and 70 for a total score of 135. Her teammate Olivia Pellerin is one stroke behind at 136 after posting two rounds of 68. Anderson University also leads the team standings with a combined score of 562.
The final round will begin at Achasta Golf Course at 8 a.m. Central Daylight Time.
