UMSL men’s golf sits second after first day at Doc Spragg Invitational

The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's golf team is in second place after the first day of the Doc Spragg Invitational, hosted by the University of Findlay at Findlay Country Club in Ohio. The Tritons, ranked No. 22 nationally, finished with a team score of 569 (293-276) after two rounds.

Logan Mayo led UMSL with a total score of 140 (69-71), tying for second place individually. Trigg Lindahl is one shot behind Mayo at 141, having improved from a morning round of 75 to shoot a 66 in the afternoon. This second-round score ties for the ninth lowest single round in school history.

Leo Baudry and Benjamin Berger, who competed as an individual, are both tied for 15th place with scores of 143. Baudry recorded rounds of 75 and 68, while Berger posted scores of 74 and 69. Ludvig Granlund ended the day tied for 27th at 145 (74-71), and Dani Solavera finished with a score of 149 (75-74).

Hillsdale's Robert Thompson leads all individuals after two rounds with a score of 138 (72-66), holding a two-shot lead over Mayo and Tiffin's Daniel Aitken heading into Tuesday’s final round. Findlay leads the team competition with a combined score of 566 (285-281), three shots ahead of UMSL.

The final round will begin Tuesday at 8 a.m. CDT at Findlay Country Club.
