Missouri St. Louis men’s golf finishes second after playoff at Doc Spragg Invitational

The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's golf team, ranked No. 22 nationally, finished second at the Doc Spragg Invitational held at Findlay Country Club in Findlay, Ohio, on Tuesday. The Tritons and host team Findlay both completed the tournament with a total score of 859, resulting in a tie that led to a playoff.

During the playoff, all five players from each team played the ninth hole. Both teams tied on their first attempt, requiring them to play the hole again. Findlay secured victory on the second attempt by recording four pars and a bogey, while UMSL had four pars and a double bogey.

Logan Mayo and Trigg Lindahl of UMSL tied for fifth place individually with scores of 214 each and were named to the All-Tournament team. Mayo's rounds were 69-71-74, while Lindahl posted scores of 75-66-73. Leo Baudry tied for 12th place with an even-par score of 216 after rounds of 75-68-73.

Other UMSL competitors included Dani Solavera, who finished tied for 24th with a score of 219 (75-74-70), Benjamin Berger—competing as an individual—who shot a total of 221 (74-69-78), and Ludvig Granlund who ended with a score of 223 (74-71-78).

Cedarville's Aiden Hibbard won the individual title after defeating Hillsdale's Robert Thompson in a one-hole playoff on No. 18. Hibbard made a birdie putt while Thompson three-putted for bogey.

The Tritons are scheduled to compete next week at the Dennis Rose Intercollegiate hosted by Hawai'i-Hilo at Waikoloa Golf Resort in Waikoloa Village, Hawaii.
