University of Missouri-St. Louis head men's golf coach Troy Halterman has been appointed to the NCAA Division II Men's Golf Committee. In this new position, Halterman will help oversee and manage the NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championships. His responsibilities will include selecting sites for regional and national tournaments, managing championship operations, and developing policies for the sport.

The committee is tasked with ensuring fair competition, maintaining the integrity of championships, and improving the experience for student-athletes in collegiate golf.

"This is a tremendous honor for Troy and for our program," said Executive Director of Athletics, Dr. Holly Sheilley. "His leadership, competitive experience, and commitment to the student-athlete experience make him an outstanding representative for both UMSL and Division II golf."

Halterman has led the UMSL Tritons men's golf team for 17 seasons. During his tenure, he has guided the team to three GLVC conference titles, 12 NCAA Regional tournament appearances, and six NCAA Championship appearances. The team's best finish was fifth place at nationals.

"I'm grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the NCAA and to help shape the championship experience for Division II men's golf student-athletes across the country," Halterman said. "It's a privilege to represent UMSL and the Great Lakes Valley Conference at the national level."

Halterman's term on the committee will last until 2030.
