The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's soccer team was defeated 1-0 by Missouri S&T in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Quarterfinals on Sunday at Don Dallas Field. UMSL, which entered the match as the top seed, now holds a record of 12-4-2 for the season, while Missouri S&T improves to 9-6-3.

The only goal of the game came in the 72nd minute when Adriana Benassi scored after receiving a pass from Anastasia Barcom. Benassi managed to get past three UMSL defenders and took a shot from the top of the box that found its way into the top right corner despite goalkeeper Rylee Griffith getting a hand on it.

UMSL had several opportunities to tie the game, including a late attempt by Karley Kinzinger in the 88th minute that hit the crossbar. Griffith made four saves during the match, including one against Benassi shortly after her goal with a full extension dive.

The Tritons recorded 13 shots overall, with five on target. Rachel Skyberg led UMSL with four shots and two on frame, while Kinzinger contributed three shots.

UMSL will learn if they receive an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament during Monday's Selection Show on NCAA.com at 5:30 p.m. CST.
