The University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL) women's soccer team secured a share of the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) regular season title and will enter the GLVC Tournament as the top seed after a 7-0 victory over William Jewell on Sunday in Liberty, Missouri.

With this win, UMSL's record stands at 12-3-2 overall and 11-1-2 in conference play. William Jewell concluded its season with a record of 2-11-4 overall and 2-9-3 in the GLVC.

UMSL claimed the number one seed due to its earlier 1-0 win against McKendree on October 10, following McKendree's tie with Quincy on Sunday. The Tritons are set to host Missouri S&T for their opening match of the GLVC Tournament at Don Dallas Field on November 9 at noon.

The match began with UMSL taking an early lead in the 11th minute when Maddie Clark was fouled inside the box, resulting in a penalty kick. Gwen Maggard converted for her fourth goal of the season. In the 33rd minute, Natalie Heib was brought down from behind in the box, leading to another penalty kick which Maggard again scored.

Avery Hesseldenz added to UMSL's tally with her first goal of the season in the 36th minute by heading home a cross from close range. Natalie Scott increased the lead to 4-0 with her third goal of the year in the 63rd minute, assisted by Aubree Wallace.

Hesseldenz scored her second goal via penalty in the 73rd minute. Olivia Lautz contributed her second goal of the season in the 84th minute, while Danni Cotter scored her first collegiate goal three minutes later.

Throughout the match, UMSL outshot William Jewell by a margin of 29 to two and recorded seventeen shots on target compared to William Jewell’s one attempt. Both Rylee Griffith and Allysa Wolf combined efforts for a shutout performance.
