UMSL Swimming Pool | Missouri St. Louis Tritons
University of Missouri-St. Louis junior swimmer Justice Beard has been awarded the Linda Vogel/UMSL Swimming Alumni Scholarship. The scholarship was presented to Beard on October 25, 2025, by UMSL swimming alumnus Tom Lombardo and his wife Michelle.
The scholarship honors Linda Vogel, who competed for the Riverwomen from 1984 to 1998, including two years as a member of the men's team after the women's program ended in 1986. Vogel graduated in 1988 with an accounting degree and was part of the Accounting Honors Society.
According to the UMSL Swimming Alumni, "Vogel was the best teammate always willing to help and make others feel special. She loved UMSL and her Rivermen/Riverwomen." They added, "The UMSL Swimming Alumni are happy to honor Linda's legacy with this scholarship."
Vogel passed away from cancer on July 23, 2012.
